Here goes something to learn from ,
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
This was written to Joshua after Moses died. What's it mean? It is a promise. The thing here is that there is more than just this verse to this whole thing.
If read from v.1, it talks about 3 things :
1. God will always be there
2. To succeed, do what God says, not just what I want to hear or think or believe.
3. It has to be a conscious and constant thing.
Some people talk about how, God is always there, watching and so forth, and I'm not gonna knock that, but like this verse, there is more to it than that. God says ( Matthew 5: 45) "..... He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."
Hm, so no doubt God is always there, and has the power to do this or that.
But point 2, is missed a lot ( Joshua 1: 7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.)
Huh, what are you getting at Dan? Each day I wake, I see 2 things, Dan who wants to use rationalization or wants my kind of proof and knowing, or Dan who wakes up and says "well, I know what I want and stuff, but to the abyss with that, cause it isn't about me......" My so called "reasoning" and "knowledge" if it doesn't come from faith in the Word, is neither reason or knowledge.
I have to go all in or not at all, look at Rev. 3: 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Whoa, this is a hard teaching, there is reason for it though. All through history of the Jews/Israelites/ Hebrews/ Christians, there are stories and proofs of those going to the left or right, from when the Old covenant was given ( by the time Jesus came, there were all these "added" rules of things to be done and such) to the Gentiles where given the Word ( the Jewish Elders were trying to make the Gentiles live by Jewish laws, ways, circumcision and such) and even now (all the traditions given as if it is Bible law and divisions in the believers not on things Godly, but traditionally made)
The left or right was not based on Moses, nor now is it based on what Brother John Doe said or added to this or that, but on what God says.
Point 3, well, ( 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.) ,
"Constant vigilance" this was a term i read in a book, no the Word, I use this term because it is a catalyst in my head to this point, always on the lookout, always looking, or at the forefront of the mind.
In um, other terms, constant focus needs to be on God. Gosh, this is another spike in the heart.
Why , WHY?
Hm, a story, I run 3x a week with other guys for some training, earlier in the morning than I would like to. Yeah I get grumpy when I wake, cause I want my shut eye( I sleep poorly, um, many reasons for that). Also, um they like to run a good 3 -5 miles recently and I of course don't like running so long. This past 2 weeks, when I ran um, I forced myself to do one thing, some way, while they sing cadence (my lungs don't like or allow me to sing along right now, something with temperature and slower acclimation to the weather here) or we are just running, I focus on 2 um, verses, either in song or just in verse form, they are: Matthew 22:37 :
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ , and related to Psalm 41:1 & 2 :
As the deer pants for streams of water, yes my soul Longs after You.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Yes my soul longs after You.

that's it, those 2 things. just repeating them over and over, I know I look weird cause I absent mindedly mouth the words and some of my higher ups have seen it and and had perplexed faces. Kinda funny, but um, it has really been helpful, cause you see, simply reminding myself these things, I have had a ton more energy, in fact, it is like the world looks new, i look at the sky and somehow, no matter the weather, something positive comes to mind.
This is just recently again, there are many days and throughout days that start well then I lose focus or get sidetracked and do something selfish.
But I think it is an example of why God says to meditate on the Word always and constantly.

It's too um, easy or um, too many things take our attention from tv, to people, to our own minds and the Devil uses that so easily. Our best intentions get pushed aside or tweaked, the war within us is raging always.
Why Dan are you thinking of all this? Well, one is a conv or more accurately, a rebuke given me earlier, gonna have to put it up here, it was pretty harsh (well, harsh is an overstatement, just cause I didn't want to hear it) yet also, cause of the perception of choice that separates so many people, more to the point of the argument over "once saved always saved".
Um, I hope this made sense, my energy level is low today, haven't slept , had a nice 24hr shift, and I know I dozed off in some of it (had 2 of us on it), but the consistent sleep hasn't come, I was hoping to exhaust myself, but guess not yet.
Well, God thanks for forgiveness. Please work on us, help her and lead her to the truth. Help us to meditate on whatever it is that focuses us on You. Oh God let her know the love YOu have and if also, m,y love for her, I don't know what to do. I feel like I'm making mistakes and just messing up. Yet at your feet i have to lay it. Oh God, I fail you so much, why, WHY do you love me?? Thank you for that, I can never "fill up the piggy bank" and earn it or deserve it. Thank you for the beauty of the sky and sun. For warmth and protection. Protect the family and Please, please, reach out o my sisters and get Phoenix a new heart. Your will be done and me be destroyed.
