"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." (Isaiah 29:14)
20Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
After this "I WILL" I have one more . For this one, it hits home, been struggling with wisdom and intelligence and what the heck that means, how to attain both, how to decipher both or one. The world seems to make sense at times. So enticing because it builds on morals or something close and arguments twist words to sound right. But isn't that the way we get pulled away ? Like in the garden, it was mostly true. It was enticing.
That is the way of the world, it tells us that wisdom is a book away or that it really means this or that, or to interpret all as you wish. Some of the "brightest" minds are frustrated. They change their tunes with each "epiphany" or "new discovery THEY made" . Look at Stephen Hawkings, changing his tune on where there is a need for God or not in creation.
So God really does make foolish the wisdom of the world, because the world relies on itself, an ever changing chameleon.
Yet what is wisdom now? The world says it is all relative, it's all ok as long as we respect and abide by each others differences in religion, style, etc. Crime doesn't pay if you get caught. It's all backwards.
What does God say? There is an absolute truth and it is in Him and we see it through His word, not through our interpretations, there is no, well " I want to believe this part, and this part well, we'll just change or ignore it." or "well it says this but I think what it doesn't say trumps this" Either I believe it or not, either way, remember that whether we agree or not on what IS said, we will be judged by it. This applies to those in the church also, for the most "wise and knowledgable" must be tested to see how true it is vs the Word. Not by interpretations or silence, but by what IS said.
Haha, I remember a time, people were making fun of me because I do my best not to curse or look at adult material. They think I'm crazy! They see nothing wrong with it, they still go home to their wives or girlfriends. Heck, they tried right on the spot to get me to do it . Why don't I just give in ? God's ways are not man's ways. It's foolish to them to not indulge.
That goes against everything we seem to learn, how we raise ourselves to be "gods" in one sense, whether we admit it or not, just cause we are at the top of the food chain. Yes, it seems foolish to us, only because well, for me, I want to do things my way and time. I is the problem. Don't like not being I. No wonder it seems foolish at times and to the world.
Well, one more " I will" to go. I hope and pray your thoughts are provoked. Be safe.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17All a man's ways seem right to him, but the LORD weighs the heart.
Proverbs 21:2
