Close your eyes and walk

Hm, my eyes are open and i see what is around me
I see the colors and the pits along the way
I never thought this day would come
I never thought I would have to lose my vision
To not see what is around me

I thought it would be easy not seeing
I know what is around me ,
I know it so well.
Then I had to lose my sight,
To close my eyes to what I'm told was real light

My life won't be the same now, because I need a hand to move
The wariness I feel going through the streets I thought that I knew.
One step is like one going off a cliff
How the heartbeat flurries now

I took that first step thinking it was over, right here and now
but it was only the beginning a new life, a new beginning.
When I took that first step, the world opened around me
I felt a hand gently touch and softly guiding me

I realized I was missing so much, the sounds ,
the smells, the universe, things too beautiful to describe
Mostly I was missing, that someone that always was by my side
The one who was waiting for me to lose my sight.
To show me true life.

I have a new beginning, though some call me crazy to close my eyes,
Yet they may never know, this amzing feeling inside.
No longer am I alone, no longer am I really blind,
I see what others miss, that there is more to life than what I see outside

Jesus told me to close my eyes , to forget what I thought was life
I was scared at first and still I am sometimes
The truth is, I have never felt so scared and alive
But it's wonderful to know that, He will never leave my side

He'll always be my guide if I can just try
Try to keep my eyes closed
To let Him lead me on
Never ahead, always there as I stumble in the way

I'm not blind, I just looking at what a different life
With Jesus by myside, I will always be alive
Instead I wait for a real prize, what He wispers in my ear
"Have you a mansion, a new robe, new life"

Now I see visions of that, instead of the world outside.
I can walk , it's ok, there is more to living than what we see right now
I'll settle for a paradise, a heaven than hell.
Come and see what I see, we'll travel on this route

Jesus won't leave me or you
He'll guide us now, till we can
 See for real the truth.
So close, so close, I can see it now
The most beautiful thing around.....
Heaven with God and His children, my family for all time.
