Funny thing, perspective is key. What is our focus on? Well, Dan, what is it? Is the glass half full or half empty?
In religion, somehow people look at what they can see.... the water in the glass...... or the doctrines people can write and the person in front doing this or that. They say, "This is bad cause she /he/ i want to believe things my way......." Everyone does it, hence why there are those who say the glass is half empty or full ( You can't go to see that person, they are gay." or " You can't have the Lord's supper AFTER the sermon.... it has to go song, prayer, verse, songs Lord's supper, Song, lesson, song, prayer, announcements, etc...." (Um I don't think i got the order right anyways).
Is Christianity substance only? Going to services or community work or making a club of "church people"? No, it isn't. Is it people who just get to a building or house and read the Bible or make things to do to show good stuff? Nope. It is a combination of what both seen and unseen. Of the things we do and that which we don't see...... our hearts. That makes the glass full or empty. Before we say if something is good or bad (full or empty, maybe we should be glad it has something in it and everyone has something good in them.
This probably doesn't make sense at the moment but it is merely just thinking out loud, trying to see from a different perspective, organize thought by throwing it out disorganized.
1 Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
