1 John 2:1
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
AMEN! AMEN! This is not there so that we do sin, it's so that we Don't hold on to it. Don't go trying to make mistakes, but if you mess up.....Jesus is there on our behalf. What other defense do we have or need?
Also, Hebrews 10:30-31
"For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people." It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."
Hm, I'm more than ok with Jesus defending me in front of God. Hope you are encouaged that Jesus can and will defend if you let Him in front of God, how much more the world?
