Readiness

So, the following are some notes form Sunday night  lesson/study not my own

“Title”Are you ready?

Ready means/=  are you able, prepared to do?

We ought to be ready.
Like the parable of the wedding feast, are we ready for the groom? Mt22:4-8 wedding feast.
Titus 3:1 (1 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good,) we have to be a people ready for every good work

-Be ready to give an answer - 1 Peter 3:15 (1 Peter 3:15
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,) : some things to be ready on  :
Why you believe what u believe.....
- On Worship- accapella, communion, denomination vs non-denomination (we try and do what NT Testament church )
-the Church
-To preach the gospel - Rom. 1:15 (15 That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome.) Paul was ready
-Gal. 2:20 - The reason for readiness –I’m crucified with Christ
-To die- James 4:14 (14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.)  - shortness of life Psalms 90, Hebrews 9:27  (27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 2) - once to die
" Everyday we live is borrowed time " (?)
- For the judgment Isaiah 59:1 ( 1 Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save,
nor his ear too dull to hear. ) -  God can save us
Rom. 1:18 (18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,)
2 Cor. 5:10 (10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.)  - we all have to answer for our good and bad
Luke 19:10 -  (10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”) Jesus came to seek and save the lost (John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.)

We want mercy not justice for ourselves; justice would be hell not Heaven.

 So, Are you ready?

So the brother wrote this, hope it helps, I have alot to think about now. again.
