Charles Spurgeon's Morning and Evening

Morning

"The things which are not seen."
2 Corinthians 4:18
In our Christian pilgrimage it is well, for the most part, to be looking forward. Forward lies the crown, and onward is the goal. Whether it be for hope, for joy, for consolation, or for the inspiring of our love, the future must, after all, be the grand object of the eye of faith. Looking into the future we see sin cast out, the body of sin and death destroyed, the soul made perfect, and fit to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in light. Looking further yet, the believer's enlightened eye can see death's river passed, the gloomy stream forded, and the hills of light attained on which standeth the celestial city; he seeth himself enter within the pearly gates, hailed as more than conqueror, crowned by the hand of Christ, embraced in the arms of Jesus, glorified with him, and made to sit together with him on his throne, even as he has overcome and has sat down with the Father on his throne. The thought of this future may well relieve the darkness of the past and the gloom of the present. The joys of heaven will surely compensate for the sorrows of earth. Hush, hush, my doubts! death is but a narrow stream, and thou shalt soon have forded it. Time, how short--eternity, how long! Death, how brief--immortality, how endless! Methinks I even now eat of Eshcol's clusters, and sip of the well which is within the gate. The road is so, so short! I shall soon be there.
"When the world my heart is rending
With its heaviest storm of care,
My glad thoughts to heaven ascending,
Find a refuge from despair.
Faith's bright vision shall sustain me
Till life's pilgrimage is past;
Fears may vex and troubles pain me,
I shall reach my home at last."

Top means bottom?

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” Mark 9:35 NIV

Baltasar Gracian

"A wise man gets more use from his enemies than a fool from his friends."

- a wise man learns while the fool just continues being foolish due to friends that the fool chooses..... ones catering to them or their ideals or pull him down further. Think that is what it means.

Lord Byron

"The beginning of atonement is the sense of its necessity." - Lord Byron

Who is he that needs forgiveness? EVERYONE. Who is he that is ready to accept it or such?  The one who believes that they need it. Lord Byron you are a man who said in those 10 words, more than most men say in their life times.  What is the point of religion and churches "i use  both terms lightly"...... Nothing if those in it don't see that they need help. That they are in need of atonement.

Ephesians 2:8-9(NIV)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

Without a true belief that one needs atonement, Dan, and it's not our atonement, it's all just going through motions. Our so called "righteousness" and " Christianity" is nothing more than a facade, cause our belief turns to thinking and acting (for that it is) "good " people and our snobbish ways of how "smart" we are and how holy and how we know what is right and what GOD wants in everything and lose our forgiveness, our mercy,  our love as it was meant.... and just..... dang..... I don't know how to finish..... it becomes fake, a mask of what is, a smoke screen , illusion.....

Guess it's just, I need, not needed, atonement, Dan. I don't, not didn't, have the ability to do that for myself.  If ever that is forgotten, then it all starts to become meaningless.

Well, God, be with cousin..... needs help she does and just in a bad place right now. Take care of Abuelo, almost time to say Good bye I'm told. May he be right with you before then or something. The parents, well care for them. The siblings, them too. Her.... well every day i think of her...... dunno what it means. On the good days, bad days, "eh" days.... take care of her and guide her. I still..... well, you know what. Oh gosh, atone me today and remind me how I need help and you have mercy .... help me remember to do that for others cause it is easy to get all "high n mighty" ..... bunch of junk you know. Well, sorry I'm dumb at many times. Thanks for listening.

"On My Own With Lyrics" By Ashes Remain - HD

"Every little thing that I've known is every thing I need to let go
You're so much bigger than the world I have made"

All I knew or thought wise turns to trash, dust, worthless in itself. The God who is and the one we make him to be are nothing. To let go is not to look back like Lot's wife. It is a total removal of all, like sending out of the 12..... On my own? Alone is death, slow and painful. Alone meaning my thoughts are what is true rather than truth itself being true and right.
I can't know everything, but the things we know we mess up and think WE know what is what, rather than what is as is said. I don't have to fight alone anymore..... no one does, but to do that one must surrender, surrender EVERYTHING..... can you do it?

to be or not to be again.....

John Calvin

This sounds brutal. God decided beforehand to save some and punish others?! REALLY?!
NO WAY!!!!!! That can't be GOD!!!!! The MERCIFUL, FORGIVING, LOVING GOD..... NO this John Calvin is insane......Not God as how I see Him. Wrong wrong wrong.

If one believes that John Calvin is wrong, well either you are blind or you are not understanding the quote as it reads.
God decided before.....
1. He wants us
2. He wants us to choose freely Him or not
3. there are consequences for our choices
TOP REASON over point 1...... the world doesn't revolve around US..... we were made by Him for Him.

So , take that into account and yes, God preordained (Decide or determine (an outcome or course of action) beforehand.) to save those who choose Him and punish those who don't......
This is no fairy tale story where all is focused on the good guy winning and parties and smiles.

God is not made for us, but us for Him. the question is, can we accept that? Do we, in our watered down morals and moral country, all about acceptance and "everything is ok man" ..... Do we believe these things, there is Him or not Him...... and it is not all ok...... this is hard truth.... it hurts and destroys.... will it destroy our pride and save our souls or our souls and save our pride?

I can't figure out some great saying that sums it up so i just stop here, Dan. Hope you get the point. now what do you choose.......

Walk this way, talk this way.....

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.- Galatians 5:16

Hm, black and white, gold and copper....... distinctly different and distinctly of different worth.

There is a way to be but in order to be it, you must give all one way or another. there are various verses that come to mind, Rev. 3  about being luke warm and not hot or cold. Or James about a man who looks in the mirror and then turns away and forgets what they look like....(is like a man who hears the word but does not do what it says......). We must commit to one way or another, if not, then we will be hurt by both.

What I mean is, well, there is no being in the middle, middle ground. This verse says one thing distinctly yet seems to not be as direct to our hearts. " GO THIS way and you will not go THAT way." This does not mean the temptation to get off a path, it means.... well hm, if you walk straight, you won't walk backwards. it's a choice and a promise. If you do this , you won't do that.. but you have to walk the path not just walk some then rest. walk, rest is along the way. To the point..... there are 2 ways..... by the Spirit and not..... what way will you walk..... and will you continue the walk?

lord Byron

When we think we lead we most are led. - Lord Byron

To lead ...... I don't know. But I have seen men who think they are "leading" when really they r just pawns and those around them are manipulating, guiding, controlling, however one puts it...... that person usually isn't leading but being led. Various examples contain politicians, religious people, children.so many "leaders" but more puppets...... what are you?

no one remains

"Nothing is worth more than this day" - Johann von Goethe

Nothing but memories last from the path.... nothing but dreams are of the future...... the only thing is today.

Whst hopes are from today? Whst will be accomplished? Did I make it worth anything?

Waste it not.... though I stink at stuff, I think of her everyday and still have a hole there. I regret the mistakes. I care about my family but I stink at keeping in touch. I will not be who I was only fight to be what I was called to be. Servant. What will that mean for today?

Be with her merciful one. I deserve no mercy bug be with the parents. With siblings. With those who cry yo YOU from a true heart.

how far we fall

Um I laughed when I read this. No way..... then I remembered a friend who told me stories about people just getting addicted to video games. Then closer when I played online games or video consoles way too much. Guess Ecclesiastes is right about nothing is new under the sun and things repeat itself. Its sad. Grrr wish I could change when I was like this. Happily no longer game aholic. Wahoo. Alas for us who have or so lose reality and life for unreality.

Ben Franklin

"He that is secure is not safe."

-Well security is nice. But in security we become complacent. In complacency we become lazy and too comfortable in it. In that we start to allow that to depress ourselves in our defense of most things , we weaken. That is where safety is lost. Least this is my thought on what he means by it. Just a thought. A warning.....
